Terms of Service
Last updated: October 14, 2026
1. This Agreement
These Terms are a binding agreement between you and KAE Travels, LLC, a California limited liability company doing business as Meet Travel Friends ("Meet Travel Friends," "we," "us," or "our"). They cover meettravelfriends.com and any related apps or services (the "Platform").
By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you use the Platform for a business, you confirm you can bind that business to these Terms.
We may update these Terms. For material changes, we will email you at least 30 days before they take effect. If you keep using the Platform after that date, the new Terms apply. If you don't agree, close your account.
2. Eligibility and Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Platform.
Keep your account information accurate and your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account. If you think someone else is using it, contact us right away at support@meettravelfriends.com.
We may suspend or close your account, or remove your content, if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms, or to protect members or the Platform. Where required by law, we will tell you why. We may also close accounts that have been inactive for a long time.
If we suspend or close your account, you may not create a new account, or use someone else's, without our written permission.
You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. When your account closes, your access ends and we handle your data as described in our Privacy Policy.
3. Community Purpose and Rules
Meet Travel Friends exists to help people build friendships through shared activities and travel. Every event must serve that purpose.
We may remove events or close accounts that include:
- Dating, romantic, or hookup matchmaking
- Sales pitches, MLM, or recruitment for a business opportunity
- Events that are mainly advertising rather than a shared activity
- Harassment, discrimination, or hateful conduct
- Anything unsafe, illegal, or misleading
- Spam, duplicate posts, or unsolicited promotional messages to members
We decide what violates these rules at our reasonable discretion. If your event or account is removed and you believe it was a mistake, email support@meettravelfriends.com within 30 days and we will review it.
4. Events and Host Responsibilities
Meet Travel Friends is a platform that connects people. We do not organize, run, or supervise events, and we are not a party to any arrangement between hosts and attendees.
Hosts are solely responsible for their events, including:
- Accurate event details, dates, costs, and locations
- Safety planning, permits, insurance, and following the law
- Any money they collect from attendees, and their own refund policy
- Communicating changes or cancellations to attendees
- Any licenses or registrations their event requires, including California Seller of Travel registration for trips that include air or sea transportation
Hosts collect any attendee payments directly. Meet Travel Friends does not collect, hold, or process attendee payments, and we cannot guarantee that a host will deliver what they promise. Attendees should use good judgment before paying a host.
We do not run background checks on members and do not verify what members say about themselves.
We are not responsible for the quality, safety, or legality of events, for event cancellations or changes, or for disputes between hosts and attendees. Hosts and attendees should resolve those directly.
5. Fees, Plans, and Payments
Joining is free. Posting events is free for all users through December 31, 2026 (Pacific Time), for events dated through March 31, 2027. Starting January 1, 2027, hosts may post events in one of two ways:
- Pay per event: $1 per free event per community, and $5 per paid event per community, charged at the time of posting. No subscription is required.
- Host 10 plan: $40 per month billed monthly, or $400 per year billed annually, through Stripe. It includes up to 10 paid event postings per month with no posting fees, plus free events at no cost. Each community an event is posted to counts as one posting. Unused postings do not roll over, including on annual plans.
After a Host 10 subscriber uses their 10 included paid event postings in a billing month, additional paid event postings are charged at the standard rate of $5 per event per community, at the time of posting.
Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel online at any time from your Billing & Receipts page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period (month or year).
Founding Hosts. The first 100 hosts to publish an event by December 31, 2026 (Pacific Time) receive a permanent Founding Host badge and 50% off a Host 10 plan purchased by March 31, 2027, for the plan's first 12 months. The discount is used once, cannot be transferred, and cannot be combined with other offers.
Refunds. Posting fees and subscription fees are non-refundable, except where required by law. This includes events cancelled by the host and events removed for violating these Terms. Annual subscriptions are not refunded or prorated if cancelled mid-term.
Payments. Payments are processed by Stripe and subject to Stripe's terms. Fees are in U.S. dollars and exclude applicable taxes. If a payment fails, we may hold your event unpublished or pause your plan until it is paid.
Price changes. We may change pricing with at least 30 days' notice. Subscription price changes take effect at the next renewal.
6. Third-Party Services
Host fees and plan payments are processed by Stripe, a third-party payment processor, and are subject to Stripe's terms and privacy policy. We do not store your full card details.
The Platform may also link to other third-party sites and services. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content, products, or services.
7. Content and Intellectual Property
You own what you post: event details, photos, comments, and messages ("Content"). You are responsible for it. You confirm that you have the rights to post it, that it is lawful, and that it doesn't share anyone's private information without permission.
You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, copy, adapt, and share your Content to operate and promote the Platform. This license ends when you delete the Content or your account, except for copies already shared with others, kept in backups, or needed for legal reasons.
Public Content, such as public event pages, may appear in search engines.
Our property. The Platform, including the Meet Travel Friends name, logo, design, and software, belongs to us and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or use it except as these Terms allow.
Copyright complaints. If you believe Content on the Platform infringes your copyright, email our designated agent, Meet Travel Friends, PO Box 1453, Redondo Beach, CA 90278, support@meettravelfriends.com, with: your contact information, the work you believe was copied, where the Content appears on the Platform, and a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized. We will remove infringing Content and may close the accounts of repeat infringers. If your Content was removed and you believe it was a mistake, you can send us a counter-notice at the same address.
8. Prohibited Uses and Privacy
You may not:
- Scrape, copy, or collect data from the Platform with bots or automated tools
- Use member information for marketing, sales, or anything other than taking part in events
- Ask members for sensitive information, such as Social Security numbers, financial account details, or health information
- Interfere with, overload, hack, or reverse-engineer the Platform
- Resell or commercially exploit the Platform except as these Terms allow
- Pretend to be someone else, misrepresent who you are, or create more than one account
- Get around blocks, restrictions, the invite system, or other safety and security features
- Contact a member who has blocked you through another account or channel
- Submit false or bad-faith reports about other members
- Use information from the Platform to harass, stalk, or harm anyone
If you receive other members' personal information through the Platform, use it only for the event it was shared for, keep it secure, and delete it when you no longer need it.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share your information, including your rights under California law.
9. Assumption of Risk, Release, and Indemnification
Assumption of risk. Travel and outdoor activities such as hiking, skiing, and water sports carry real risks, including injury, illness, property loss, and death. By joining an event, you choose to accept those risks.
Release. To the fullest extent the law allows, you release Meet Travel Friends and its owners, employees, and partners from claims arising from events, travel, or your dealings with other members or third parties. You waive California Civil Code Section 1542, which says: "A general release does not extend to claims that the creditor or releasing party does not know or suspect to exist in his or her favor at the time of executing the release and that, if known by him or her, would have materially affected his or her settlement with the debtor or released party."
Indemnification. To the fullest extent the law allows, you will defend and reimburse us for claims, losses, and legal fees arising from your Content, your events, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of law or anyone's rights.
10. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, including that the Platform will be error-free, secure, or always available, or that event information is accurate.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of $100 or the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
These limits do not apply to our gross negligence, fraud, or willful misconduct, or where the law does not allow them.
11. Disputes and Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California and applicable U.S. federal law.
Try to resolve it first. Before filing any claim, email support@meettravelfriends.com with your name, contact information, a description of the issue, and what you're asking for. We'll both try in good faith to resolve it within 45 days.
Arbitration. If we can't resolve it, disputes will be decided by binding individual arbitration under the Federal Arbitration Act, administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. Hearings will be by video or phone, or in person in Los Angeles County, California, if needed. Either of us may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court.
No class actions. Claims may be brought only individually, not as a class or representative action, except as the law requires.
Opt out. You can opt out of arbitration within 30 days of first accepting these Terms by emailing support@meettravelfriends.com with your name, account email, and a clear statement that you're opting out.
If arbitration does not apply, claims must be brought in the state or federal courts in Los Angeles County, California.
12. General Terms and Contact
- Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the full agreement between you and us about the Platform.
- Changes to the Platform. We may change, pause, or discontinue features at any time.
- No partnership. Members and hosts are not our employees, agents, or partners.
- Assignment. You can't transfer these Terms without our consent. We may transfer them as part of a merger, sale, or reorganization.
- Severability. If part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies.
- No waiver. If we don't enforce a provision right away, we can still enforce it later.
- Survival. Sections 5 through 12 continue to apply after your account closes.
- Electronic communications. You agree that we may send you notices, disclosures, and other communications by email or through the Platform, and that these satisfy any requirement that they be in writing.
